Great day with James A, who I have been shadowing on ML courses and is prepping for the MCI assessment.
We started with rigging group abseils and top rope. Great hour in the sun with me rigging and James critiquing my set ups and then running through other ways of doing it and problem solving.
We then ran through retrievable abseils before we did 3 pitches of climbing around v-diff where James picked an interesting line to climb and set me a goal of using a particular type of belay set up or only using certain pieces of kit. We never followed a particular route, just climbed the most interesting line so had some traversing and rope drag to contend with which meant lots of extended quick draws.
Lots of learning, loads of encouragement and a great afternoon in the sun with a mate.
