From Clavans le Bas in light rain, down & up to charming buildings of Besse en Oisans, where a lady in an old fashioned shop prepared sandwiches for us. Then in clearing weather with views of bearded vultures, up to Col St Georges. Plateau d'Emparis had a Scottish look & we took the diversion to Lac Noir with cows & great views to La Meije. Back to the main route near Col de Souchet & down a long decline & more steeply to Le Chazelet. Stayed to Gite La Reine Meije in Les Terrasses, wich is being renovated by Belgian Frederik
