Description

I set off from Great Langdale and ascended via Stickle Gill to Stickle Tarn. The river was running high so it was interesting crossing it near the top! From here I made my way up into thick fog on Blea Rigg where I continued up onto Sergeant Man, which was still cloaked in fog. As this was an exploratory mission for my new book with only one part of the route I needed to check, I had decided upon a 'there and back' route. As I headed back down the fog suddenly lifted and I enjoyed super views as I made my way back to Stickle Tarn. I returned on the East side of the river back to the car park.

Area : Central Fells

The Vale of Keswick, provides separation from the Northern Fells whilst to the west runs the long valley of Borrowdale. The parallel eastern boundary is created by Thirlmere and the St Johns in the Vale. Grasmere to Windermere forms the remainder of the eastern boundary. In the west, Stake Pass descends into Great Langdale.
