Description

Finally tackled Yewbarrow, a walk I've wanted to do for a long time but never done! Starting from the car park at the bottom of the South face I climbed up by the wall and went up the scramble to the summit. I visited North Top but descended via the runner's track. From there I went up to Red Pike which was the best mountain I've done for ages and explored the summit before descending via Over Beck.

Area : Southern Fells (Scafell Pike)

The Southern Fells Include Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, occupy a broad area to the south of Great Langdale, Borrowdale and Wasdale. High and rocky towards the centre of the Lake District, the Southern Fells progressively take on a moorland character toward the south west. In the south east are the well known Furness Fells, their heavily quarried flanks rising above Coniston Water.
