Description

Parked at the southern end of Haweswater Res, headed out to Mardale backup to bleach water, then headed to Casper gate and along westerly on Long Stile to summit High Street. frosty ground at 828m. headed south from Racecourse Hill.South East Mardale lll Bell to the shelter then headed down Nan Field Pass pass the waterfall at Small Water crag, pass the two shelters on are left at we descended down hand railing Small water Beck to the car park at Mardale head. my group size was six teenagers. We covered some basic navigation and some footwork on the Long Stile ridge.

Area : Far Eastern Fells

Reaching their highest point at High Street(828 metres) they occupy a broad area to the east of Ullswater and Kirkstone Pass. Much quieter than the central areas of Lakeland they offer in general easier but less exciting walking as the fells merge mainly into the surrounding moorlands. Exceptions however are the fine rock scenery to be seen surrounding the head of Haweswater
