I have coached GB Paraclimber James Rudge on many occasions through my work with Apex Climbing Coaching. He is an AU2 lower arm amputee.
The main focus with James over the years has been to utilise his previous parkour skills and apply them to his climbing to be more dynamic and use greater compression as modern comp style holds tend to favour a slopey style that doesn't cater well to a lack of a hand.
At the time of coaching him he wasn't yet in the GB team but has now been accepted, is competing internationally, has won national paraclimbing champs rounds and runs his own climbing coaching company focussed at encouraging people with disabilities to go climbing.
