Started from Ynyswen on Friday night, walked into the early evening. Odd night-navigating in a T-shirt! Camped 826158: not a good water source, but soft, dry ground and out of the wind. Woke to driech weather, so packed up and walked to the falls on Afon Haffes 838179 and breakfasted there. Weather cleared as I dropped down Fan Hir to join the Beacons Way, walked to the path up Fan Bryncheiniog. Followed the Way to Bwlch Blaen-Twrch 816217 then crossed country vaguely south, eventually returning to the Ancient Briton Inn Campsite through Coed Abercraf. Start: 9pm; finish: 3.30pm next day.

Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park
Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons) is a mountain range in South Wales. In a narrow sense, the name refers to the range of Old Red Sandstone peaks popular with walkers which lie to the south of Brecon. Sometimes referred to as "the central Beacons" they include South Wales' highest mountain, Pen y Fan. The range forms the central section of the Brecon Beacons National Park (Parc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog), a designation which also encompasses ranges both to the east and the west of "the central Beacons". This much wider area is also commonly referred to as "the Brecon Beacons".
