Description

A very pleasant walk from Shap, down to Shap Abbey and along to Rosgill, returning on the opposite side of the river. Had a scary moment with an annoyed cow but all was well, and I saw a Red Squirrel with a white tail, and saved a lamb which was stuck in some discarded fencing. Afterwards I travelled to Lowther Castle and had a lovely walk around the river!

Area : Northern Pennines

Between the A69 and the A66. The region is widely considered to be one of the most scenic areas of the United Kingdom. The North Pennines and Nidderdale are designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
