Description

Started at patterdale and headed towards high street passing angle tarn and taking in the peaks of rest dodd and the knot before climbing up on to High Street. After lunch at the summit cairn we walked north along the ridge towards high raise, raven howe, red crag wether howe and loadpot hill. From heare we headed down to the lakeside near Howtown and followed the bridgeway around the waters edge to the campsite

Area : Far Eastern Fells

Reaching their highest point at High Street(828 metres) they occupy a broad area to the east of Ullswater and Kirkstone Pass. Much quieter than the central areas of Lakeland they offer in general easier but less exciting walking as the fells merge mainly into the surrounding moorlands. Exceptions however are the fine rock scenery to be seen surrounding the head of Haweswater
