I had the first Munro Un-completion party. Will see how many read my d log and question what on earth this is!!
My family and friends joined me to the summit of Cairngorm which I had left for last and avoided even during work and Winter ML. The weather was superb, sunny, no wind, but fresh dumping of snow from Rothiemurchas.
Many of my family and some friends do not mountaineer, so myself and other mountain friends supported them to the summit to celebrate prematurely with me my not final Munro!
5 hours, herding cats and having a wonderful day in powder. Ages 9 to 74.
Area :
The Cairngorms
The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
