This was a group walk planned by myself, for approximately 8 people. I arranged all of the accommodation and transportation (minibus). We walked the Cleveland Way from Redcar to Whitby. I recall that the weather was set fair throughout, though one night we stayed in an old army barracks which had been converted to a self-catering facility, which was freezing in the night! The path was very close to the edges of the cliffs in places, and care was taken for everyone to watch their footing and not tread awkwardly. Some of the walk crossed fields and here it was warm and pleasant, with mostly flat land to cross, so we were able to stride out comfortably. At Scarborough we walked across the beaches! I can't remember many details of the walk, however I felt I should mention it as part of my log. I used to have photos but all but one have been lost. We did not camp but stayed in Youth Hostels or B&B's.
Area :
The North York Moors
To the east the area is clearly defined by the impressive cliffs of the North Sea coast. The northern and western boundaries are defined by the steep scarp slopes of the Cleveland Hills edging the Tees lowlands and the Hambleton Hills above the Vale of Mowbray and the broken line of the Tabular Hills to the south
