A lovely day leading a lady with her dog onto Mellbreak. We decided against doing the scree path so walked along the valley to climb the fell in the middle dip between the two summits. We then went onto the summit and had lunch before heading down to visit Scale Force and then a pleasant stroll back to Lanthwaite Wood beside Crummock Water. The weather was showery, with a biting cold fresh wind.

Essentially this area is encompassed by Lakes of Bassenthwaite, Derwent Water, Buttermere and Crummock Water with the southern boundary being the Honister Pass
