Description

Decided on route from Lakes to do the Greater Traverse.
Left Slig early evening (mid Apr) and bivvied short of Clas Glaic. Woke in a cloud but by time coffee brewed it was dropped into most insane inversion. Nice climbing over CH and BB, followed by nice coastal walk.
Jumped off Bad Step for resfreshing dip.
Hot climb to ridge. Only realised now that in our haste, we we light packed on food. Oops.
Decided to take all difficulties and did so.
Bivvi S Alasdair.
More inversion and some cloud later in the day. Found a biscuit on a rock and ate it, such was my hunger. Drank from a wee muddy puddle on the putting green such was my thirst. Crossed a few patches of snow. Had to both really focus for Naismith's which was hard given fatigue / hypoglaecemia. Completed in a shade under 50 hours.
Andy led on tech climbing as I was still v much nursing my L arm from el Chorro fractured elbow.

Area : Skye - The Cuillin (Summer)

The Cuillin mountains of Skye are justifiably admired as having the most alpine-like atmosphere of all the ranges of the British Isles, and perched elegantly above the sea they have an especial charm. The traverse of the main ridge is of course a highly prized expedition, but the flanks of the Cuillin contain a very large number of crags of excellent gabbro, offering long multi-pitch climbs throughout the grade range.
