During our trip around Scotland, we visited the Isle of Skye. On the first day, we explored the Fairy Pools, enjoying the natural beauty and the crystal-clear waters. As evening approached, we set up a wild camp near the A87 at Loch Sligachan, with a stunning view of Glamaig. The evening brought a significant challenge with the midges, which were intense as the sun went down. However, the situation improved during the night, allowing us to enjoy a peaceful sleep. Our camping location offered great opportunities for photography and videography; I captured some excellent time-lapse footage of the clouds moving over Glamaig and stunning drone footage of the river, with lovely reflections on the water.Originally, we planned to cook our own breakfast the next morning, but due to the midge situation the previous evening, we decided to visit a nearby café instead. This change in plans allowed us to enjoy a relaxed morning before continuing our journey.Overall, the trip was a success, with the team adapting well to the challenges presented by the weather and midges. The experience provided valuable insights into managing a group in a wild camping environment, particularly in handling adverse conditions like midge infestations.
