After the British Relay Championships race at Moffat, we headed to Borrowdale and stayed at the YHA. While the others opted for an expensive room, I chose to camp on the grass outside for just £10. Despite the wet conditions, including waking up with a puddle next to my head, I had full access to all the YHA facilities, making it a great budget option compared to what the others paid. The next morning, Harry, Sam, and I went for a run up in the fells. We enjoyed the refreshing morning air and got back just in time for a quick wash in the river before heading to the Dale Head fell race organized by Keswick AC. Despite the heavy rain, visibility was good, and I managed to secure 3rd place, finishing behind Matt Atkinson and Jack Scott. The combination of budget camping, a scenic morning run, and a competitive race made for a memorable weekend in the Lake District.
