This solo outing was focused on Spine Race training, carrying full kit and navigating through heavy rain and extensive bogs. The conditions were challenging, with tons of bog water to trudge through, making it a perfect training scenario for the Spine Race. The heavy rain tested my gear thoroughly, and I was particularly impressed with how well the waterproof socks performed, keeping my feet dry and comfortable throughout the hike. Despite the tough conditions, visibility remained good, allowing for steady progress. This session provided valuable experience in gear management and endurance in difficult terrain, key components for future challenges.
