Description

Settlebeck School group - prep for Ardgour Backpacking trip.
Friday night - walk up to Sprinkling tarn from Seathwaite. Tents up, cooked and kids to bed. Up early, stashed camping kit in the ghyll then took the group up to Esk Hause, Great End, then Broad Crag, Ill Crag and Scafell Pike. Descent down Corridor Route to collect camping kit from the ghyll, then return to Seathwaite via Styhead.

Area : Southern Fells (Scafell Pike)

The Southern Fells Include Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, occupy a broad area to the south of Great Langdale, Borrowdale and Wasdale. High and rocky towards the centre of the Lake District, the Southern Fells progressively take on a moorland character toward the south west. In the south east are the well known Furness Fells, their heavily quarried flanks rising above Coniston Water.
