Description

Settlebeck School group.
Left minibus at Corran Ferry, took the ferry across in glorious sunshine (should have known!) and began walking up Cona Glen. Camped by the river (lots of midges but kids very happy) Woke up to pouring rain, low cloud and stiff breeze. Decided to walk down the glen rather than taking in the tops as out for 2 more days. Camped again in the col before beginning the descent down to Loch Shiel. Consistent fould weather but kept student spirits high. Had wind damage to a tent camping in the col. Walked down and then along the beck to edge of Glernfinnan. Back to Fort William by train. I then ran and collected the van while the pupils had a bite to eat with the rest of the staff.

Area : Moidart and Ardnamurchan (Rois-Bheinn)

This is the area to the west of Loch Shiel and south of the A830. Mountain peaks listed are in the Moidart area and are between 600m – 900m, including Beinn Odhar Bheag and Rois Bheinn, both standing at 882m. Peaks to the east are listed in the Sunart and Ardgour area.
