Description

westerly wind, so quite protected on route. but very strong on the tops 50mph by 4pm.
I spent the day teaching lizzie about long mountain routes. what i covered:
- where to belay especially on a route that winds quite a lot - shorter pitches to reduce drag.
- when to extend draws especially before going over a bulge
- stance management
- stopped ropes getting twisted
- route finding and descriptions.

Area : Lochnagar and the Dubh Loch Basin (Summer)

While Lochnagar is primarily a winter climbing venue, there are several excellent summer cimbs, the most popular of which is the classic Eagle Ridge. Creag an Dubh Loch has a wealth of high quality long routes across the grade range and of a variety of styles. Eagle Rocks on the opposite side of the loch are home to some good clean slab climbs.
