Brighter this morning after days of rain. Steeply up over Baisse de Prais ahead of cloud, which was lapping against the south side of the ridge. Down & across the traverse path to Lacs de Prais while others took a longer lower route. Then lunch at Baisse des Cinq Lacs. A short excursion up to point 2408m & back. Then descent to Madonne de Fenestre with very heavy rain catching us 15min short so we arrived trompe. Others arrived with their epics; 2 German women who had borrowed ice axes from Ref Nice to come over Pas du Mt Colomb, & 2 US women who had the fright of their sheltered lives in the rain & snow on Pas des Ladres.
