Description

The final day of the Bronze-lite (3 days and 2 nights so no camping attributed here). The group hiked South from Cobble Hey Farm to Hobbs Lane before continuing S along Brock Mill Lane. Some navigational issues where footpaths had been diverted and the map was out of date. I checked digital maps to confirm the way forwards. The group crossed Farm fields to the E to the foot of Beacon Fell. I left them for remote supervision and met the group successfully at the top of Beacon Fell. A brief snack / early lunch in the sunshine before the group headed back to Cobble Hey Farm camp. They left to the N and I supervised a road section before they joined a footpath leading to the River Brock. Close -but remote observation along the road, then they turned down Bleasdale. Again, they were running short of time, as a result of the challenge they had set themselves. They continued along the River Brock (Bleasdale) to Waddecar Scout camp & then along Snape Rake Lane to ascend the steep hill again, climbing away from the River - and onto Delph Lane before turning west & through farm fields before returning to Cobble Hey Farm. I was performing the role of Trainer, DofE Supervisor & DofE Assessor, which is permitted at Bronze.

Area : South and Western Pennines including Forest of Bowland
