After leaving Alston, Our group split up when Ruari and James took a wrong turn. Despite my warnings, they continued on the wrong path, so I pressed on alone. Navigating solo in the cold night was tough, and I struggled with sleepwalking and going off track a few times. The Hadrian’s Wall section was especially eerie, with mist and hallucinations adding to the challenge. At one point, I had to take a power nap kneeling against the wall because I could no longer keep my eyes open. As morning approached, I caught up with another competitor named Richard, and we walked together into Bellingham, which helped keep me focused. After a short rest and hot food in Bellingham, I decided to continue on my own to make the most of the daylight.
