The first leg of my Raad Ny Foillan adventure covered approximately 80 km along the Isle of Man's coastal footpath. Starting early, the weather was perfect for a long day of hiking and running, with clear skies and no wind. The route offered stunning coastal views and varied terrain, making navigation straightforward but physically demanding due to the distance and elevation gain. This segment required careful management of pace, energy, and hydration, especially as the hours passed and fatigue set in. The route included a mix of long flat sections on the sandy beach and later the rocky beaches and challenging ascents, making for a well-rounded day on the coast.
