This day started off very wet and miserable. As I got further up into the higher ground though the rain turned into snow making for a beautiful winter seen through Kinder Scout. The whole day was a mix of heavy rain and snow showers. It was incredibly cold in wet gear and my fingers took a real beating. Navigation was easy where there were roman slabs and they weren't covered in snow. It was much more difficult where there were multiple tracks on the map but nothing to see on the ground. I went off course a few times but discovered It early enough to remedy. Tough, challenging section and a great start to the week.

Area : Dark Peak

Is situated between Sheffield and Manchester. The underlying rock is Millstone grit which is often exposed at the edge of the higher peat bogs for which the area is famous.
