Description

Leg 3 - Malham Tarn to Hawes

Peaks:
Fountains Fell (668m)
Pen Y Ghent (694m)

During this section I experienced fatigue and Achilles discomfort, I adjusted my pace and footwork to manage it. The night was still and quiet, with clear visibility improving as dawn broke. I navigated toward Pen y Ghent, observing the mountain's features and adapting to the terrain.During the ascent, I stayed aware of my footing, managing fatigue while appreciating the sunrise. On the descent, I bypassed an unofficial checkpoint, focusing on reaching the official one. Despite tiredness, I navigated effectively through familiar terrain to reach the checkpoint in Hawes.

Area : South Yorkshire Dales

Most of the larger southern dales (e.g. Ribblesdale, Malhamdale and Airedale, Wharfedale and Nidderdale) run roughly parallel from north to south. Includes the Three Peaks, Malham and Langstrothdale/Wharfdale.
