Description

Leg 5 - Blackton reservoir to Dufton

Peaks:
High Cup Nick (Not a peak but 575m)

While hiking, I encountered another competitor, Clarens, and we decided to move together as our pace was similar. We navigated through flat terrain, discussing life and staying alert for navigation changes. Eventually, we reached a more technical section, scrambling over icy rocks by the river, requiring careful footwork.Afterward, we tackled the ascent to Birkdale, feeling the strain after the flat ground. Despite fatigue, we kept up our pace by exchanging food and maintaining energy levels. When we reached High Cup Nick, we took a moment to appreciate the spectacular view before descending into Dufton.

Area : Northern Pennines

Between the A69 and the A66. The region is widely considered to be one of the most scenic areas of the United Kingdom. The North Pennines and Nidderdale are designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
