Description

2 day Winter Guided walking
Working for - Highland Climbing Company
2 clients.
Day 1 - We walked out to Ben Macdui, getting used to walking on firm snow and just a fun journey day, enjoying the scenery, strong southerly winds, it felt like -15.
Day 2 - We went up Ficalle Ridge, firm snow but not very much and teh summer path was still visible, we then went up to cairngorm and down.

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
