Description

Working for - Jagged Globe
5 day intro to mountaineering
Day 1 - White corries - ski centre using the broken on the right hand side of the steepening towards the summit of meall a bhuidh.
There was almost waist deep snow and really difficult trail breaking, so using the rockier outcrops to put crampons on worked really well. Ice axe arresting and the use of and ice axe was really good ground for it. Care was needed in any steeper gullies due to so much snow coming down.
Day 2 - An MCI day of assisting the advanced mountaineering group look at rock anchors, ( conditions were not snowy, therefore it was an MCI day)
We went onto the zigzags and looked at rock anchors and progressing summer rock.
Day 3 - Back into the winter mountains with the intro group, looking at rock anchors and basic body belaying and emergency shelters higher up on Buachaille Etive beag
Day 4 - Big Journey day, travelling up Stob Ban via the north path, and descending the same way.
Day 5 - A walk up the Tullach to continue building on snow anchors, a shorter day due to people travelling back home after the course.
