Description

From the road near Cluanie Inn, Dot and I walked directly to the top of A` Chralaig. this was a pretty relentles, steep ascent but there was, surprisingly, a path. The sun was out as we reached the summit. However, once the wind got up it was very cold as we continued along the ridge Northwards. We ascended Mullach Fraoch-Choire along a lovely ridge. Unfortunately the cloud came down as we reached the summit. Given how damp we were and how cold it was, we decided not to go back the way we`d come along the ridge and headed West into Coire Odhar and then followed the burn back to the road.

Area : Glen Affric and Kintail

South of Loch Mullardoch you will find the Glen Affric and Kintail area whose southern boundary is the A87 road to Inverness. The Five Sisters of Kintail, Beinn Fhada, Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan and Carn Eighe are just some of the impressive peaks in this area, and all have their own unique selling points such as remoteness, size, steepness or height. As a result, peaks in the list are all over 900m.
