Description

we set off from the Eas Chia-aig waterfalls car park but the path we`d wanted to use was closed at first as there is a new hydro scheme being built. We had to follow a diversion that will have added 3km to the walk at least! We walked up the Gleann Chia-aig to Fedden. Dot had a slight crisis of confidence but felt re-enthusedafter a break at Fedden. We crossed over to ascend to the coll next to the Allt CamBhealach. A good stalker`s path then takes you to the summit of Sron a` Choire ghairbh. Back to the col then over Meal na Teanga and Meall Odhar back down to Gleann Chia-aig at the end of the forest. Quite a bit of compass work on this zig-zagging ridge.

Area : Glen Affric and Kintail

South of Loch Mullardoch you will find the Glen Affric and Kintail area whose southern boundary is the A87 road to Inverness. The Five Sisters of Kintail, Beinn Fhada, Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan and Carn Eighe are just some of the impressive peaks in this area, and all have their own unique selling points such as remoteness, size, steepness or height. As a result, peaks in the list are all over 900m.
