Miles, Dave, Gav, Anna, Me.
Linn of Quoich Parking at 33m
Snowing from setting off. -22 directly in the wind.
Inverchandick cottage through woods and over bridge and North East to Glennin -t- Stugain.
Tried to find the secret both. 1st turn from pt split and up stream.
Had lunch in `secret bothy` then walked down to ruin.
Avalanche debris from collapsed cornice by ruin on ENE facing slope with new snow on top that had fallen today at 598.
Miles (the only one with an ML amongst us) wanted to climb to the side of the avalanche debris with the logic that you can`t get avalanched in the same place twice.
I opted for the original plan to stay low in the valley, avoiding the slopes with considerable avalanche forecast and ascend those with a low risk of avalanche and go across the tops. Dave opted for my choice as did Anna. I didn`t want us to split up. Miles climbed a little way up and triggered a small slide and sheepishly retreated back to us where we carried on as a whole group.
We contoured to Carne na Crinche 737, then ascended as the weather cleared up to Carne na Druchaide 818 (corbetts), SW down spur near the river to edge of the forest track to Linn of Quioch.
09:30- 16:00
20km
Wore crampons over the tops and was in goggles all day with balaclava as spin drift was epic.
