DESCRIPTION OF ROUTE:
I arrived in a very wet Glencoe, I left my car just outside of Glencoe threw on the waterproofs and head off up the hillside in search of the ridge. I have been waiting to do this ridge for some time now and was excited that I got the chance even if the weather conditions where not great. The forecast for the day was strong winds and heavy rain/snow. While I was up on the ridge the cloud broke a couple of time reviling the stunning view below. The whole experience was surreal. I made good time heading up toward the first munro of the ridge and decided to visit the pap before heading over towards Sgorr Nam Fiannaidh. When I reached the summit I was in the cloud, not put of I headed towards the ridge. I enjoyed every moment of the ridge. The conditions made it challenging at times and was glad I bought my goggles as the wind and snow combined was brutal. My plan was to continue onto the other side of the valley on day two and I camped in the moorland below Stob Na Doire. The weather was horrendous throughout the night and I found my self in the middle of a lighting storm in the early hours of the morning. It was a pretty cool experience even if it was a little scary, When I woke up in the morning the rock was wet and decided that It wouldn’t be a good idea to have a go at the route I had planned and decided to head back to the car and return home.
