An introduction on how to approach structured training for rock climbing in a simple, time-efficient and uncomplicated way. We’ll distil the overwhelming mass of online training information down to the few simple principles that consistently lead to progression in climbers.
Whether you’re wanting to regain past performance levels from your youth, prepare well for a climbing trip, or steadily progress your level over a longer period, this day is for you.
We’ll explore how to use training for increasing performance across trad, sport and bouldering, plus how training can increase physical resilience and reduce injury risk at all stages of adult life.
Topics will include developing strength, endurance and flexibility on and off the wall in ways that are suitable for all fitness and ability levels.
Please bring personal indoor climbing kit, rope and food/drink for the day.
This workshop will be delivered by John Kettle, Lakes based WMCI, Performance Coach and Personal Trainer. John coaches full time and writes personalised training plans for all ages and abilities of climber.
