This is a workshop aimed at preparing clients in the UK for taking on alpine objectives such as the Hornli ridge on the Matterhorn. It is for full AMI Members and is delivered by highly experienced British Mountain Guide, Adrian Nelhams.

The workshop will look to cover the following:

Planning & Progression of an Alpine Preparation Day
Thoughts around simulating alpine terrain
Pointers & conversation topics for clients heading to the Alps re objectives, best times in the season, equipment etc
Bigger picture safety
Moving efficiently over moderate rock terrain – rope techniques, belays, anchors etc
Short Roping techniques
Abseiling, lowering & counterbalance abseils
Route link up’s
Down climbing techniques

The workshop will meet at Sticklebarn, Great Langdale at 10am.

You'll need to bring on the day: Harness, helmet, approach and climbing shoes, belay plate & basic trad gear, single rope, lunch/drink etc
