Friday morning workshop
Workshop Description
Teaching navigation is at the core of our skills and qualification courses, and our providers are all very familiar with this. This workshop will give attendees the opportunity to share and reflect on their own techniques and strategies for teaching this complex skill.
However, it will also introduce some creative ideas from the world of orienteering coaching and will look at methods to address the common sticking points for candidates; such as contour interpretation, navigational strategies and relocation. We will look at how we can evaluate candidates’ performance most accurately and get the most progressive training and assessment out of the time and tasks available.
