National Provider Conference 2022

Mountain Training England and Mountain Training Cymru

This is a conference for all currently approved providers and course staff for leadership and skills schemes for Mountain Training England and Mountain Training Cymru held at Plas Y Brenin. 

Spring 2022 marks the implementation of changes from the review of the walking schemes. The conference will share an update from MountainTraining including the details of this with other key topics as well as an opportunity to choose from a range of diverse workshops. 

Please choose 3 workshops - one per session (Thursday morning, Thursday afternoon and Friday morning)

This is a biennial event supported by Sport England. Please limit bookings to one delegate per provider.

Workshop titles (for details please see individual sessions): 

1. Promoting diversity and inclusion on courses

2. Training and assessing access & environment

3. Teaching climbing movement

4. Giving feedback at assessment

5. Climbing clinic: Teaching on sport crags, security on crags, better belaying etc

6. Teaching and assessing leadership

7. Techniques for teaching and assessing navigation

Please do not book onto the same session twice.

To meet your course director / tutor update requirements, please attend all sessions including three workshops. 

This will also gain 1 CPD point for the associations as listed, AMI TBC.
