WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES
We explore two upland habitats: the beautiful ancient oakwood of Black-a-Tor Copse and the grassed hillsides above it. The woodland is a fine example of temperate rainforest, biodiverse and home to rare lichens, mosses and birds; it contrasts markedly with the species-poor grassland, impacted by centuries of grazing. We will consider how these habitats came into existence, the conditions that favour them, and their special characteristics. We will try our hand at identifying some of the species found here, using activities you might like to try out with your own clients. The session is for everyone who wants to pass on a love of nature to their clients. Learning outcomes:
