This 2 day workshop is hosted by Mountain Training Scotland and is for those looking to develop their training and assessment techniques.
The course will be staffed by Alan Halewood and Sandy Paterson - both trainers and assessors with a long time involvement with training and assessing on the Mountain Training qualification schemes including at Mountaineering Instructor level.
The workshop is for those involved or interested in becoming involved in working on the Mountain Training qualification schemes, and is a mandatory part of the process of becoming a Mountain Training Scotland (MTS) approved Course Director. The intention is to allow participants practical opportunities to explore methodologies appropriate to training and assessing the Mountain Training qualifications. It will also hold relevance to anyone training and assessing in the outdoors not just those involved in working on the Mountain Training schemes.
To reduce the amount of time spent inside covering the theory there will be an eLearning module to complete prior to the course and this will be emailed to attendees prior to the course.
To keep the day as flexible as possible and make the best use of conditions, could delegates come dressed and equipped for outdoor sessions ‘on the hill’. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PACKED LUNCH.
The cost of the workshop is £150.00 per person. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Please note: The total cost of this event is being underwritten by Mountain Training Scotland as part of the 'MTS Community of Practice' initiative.
Please note the refund rules for this workshop
