A long day with consistent ascent
Weather: Cloudy with very cold wind.

Vertigo enducing route up towards Bossons Glacier, full of zig zags and short rocky scrambles. Beautiful of Bossons Glacier sparkling Blue. Patches of snow encountered. Good break at Chalet des Pyramides. This was the original route used by Balmat & Paccard to ascend Mont Blanc in 1786. At La junction you feel your tantalisingly closer to the summit. The climb up around Gite a Balmat is fantastic. You can hear both the Bossons and the Taconnaz Glaciers cracking and groaning. I would not recommend the decent towards the Taconnaz, the path was very indistinct and missing in places with sudden drops towards the Taconnaz ravine and Moraine. Got down safe in the end.
