Description

HVS 4c-5a-0-5a. I Led 4c pitch 1. John M Led 5a pitch 2. Steve E led easy walk pitch 3. I started the crux 5a pitch 4, placed 2 bits of gear (large hex, good number 6 nut with extender). moved up, couldn't make the move, moved back down, thought I could trust the gear so fell on it. Annoyingly, I then bumped my knee on a rock, lacerating it. So we descended from here, leaving a single sling. I drove myself to Ysbyty Gwynedd where it was glued together. I was climbing Crib Goch 3 days later!

Area : Llanberis Pass

The one-time crucible of Welsh climbing. The fine crags of the Pass are easily accessible from the road. On the north side, the principal crags are: Dinas y Gromlech (bearing the famous line of Cenotaph Corner), Carreg Wastad (flat rock) and Clogwyn y Grochan. Further down the valley is Craig Ddu (black rock). On the south side, the principal 'roadside' cliff is Dinas Mot.
