Description

Dot and I decided to try to do the `Seven Summits` (https://www.saalbach.com/en/summer/hiking-outdoor/seven-summits) and we were on the first Cable Car at 9am of the Schattberg Xpress. We walked over the Stemmerkogel, Hochkogel, Hochsaalbachkogel and the Barensteinkogel but it then became clear that we weren`t going to get up the other three. The Hochsaalbachkogel was a narrow ridge with a cable along it `fixed` with reinforced rods. However many rods were loose or not even attached to the rock any more!
We headed across to the col and down into Lengau. This took longer than we`d expected and we had to jog the last section so as to catch the bus back to Saalbach. Hot day but amazing views.
