Started at Edale and walked up Grindsbrook Clough onto Kinder plateau. Followed path W and towards Edale Head before heading North towards Kinder Downfall. Followed path around the edge of the plateau eventually returning to ringing rodger and we dropped back down and returned to Edale. A long day but easier paths/easish navigation for new walker (girlfriend). Weather started well for the climb up Grindsbrook clough but wasn't so good on top - visibility over the plateau wasn't too bad but cloudy.
Area :Dark Peak
Is situated between Sheffield and Manchester. The underlying rock is Millstone grit which is often exposed at the edge of the higher peat bogs for which the area is famous.
