Walking with my girlfriend as it was half term. Route started from Edale and headed south up to Mam Tor and then Eastwards to follow the ridge along to Hollins Cross and Lose Hill. From here dropped down the southern side of Lose hill heading for Townhead before turning North along the river towards Jaggers Clough and from here up onto the Eastern end of the Kinder plateau. Walked along the edge of the plateau to Grindsbrook clough and descended back to Edale. A nice walk and a different way to the top than I had been before.
Area :Dark Peak
Is situated between Sheffield and Manchester. The underlying rock is Millstone grit which is often exposed at the edge of the higher peat bogs for which the area is famous.
