Description

It was a cold clear sunny day so I took the first Ullswater Steamer from Pooley Bridge to Howtown and walked back along the Bridleway (now part of the Ullswater Way) to Pooley Bridge. There were some icy patches and snow on the ground, but crampons were carried but not needed. The path was very easy to follow and again I used my paper map to find my way from the landing stage to the Bridleway at Howtown. It is a popular route so I met plenty of people along the way. Visibility was excellent.

Area : Eastern Fells

From the Kirkstone Pass to the M6.
