Description

2 (6). Eskdale, Scafell Pike. weather: overcast, becoming light rain all day, temperature 4degC on summits. 23 hours. Spent the night on Allen Crags (bad idea in the wind), summited Glaramara in the morning, then headed down to pick up the Corridor Route and summited Scafell Pike in zero visibility. Headed toward Scafell, then headed south back to Eskdale.
Bailed on second night because I was cold and soaked through!

Area : Southern Fells (Scafell Pike)

The Southern Fells Include Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, occupy a broad area to the south of Great Langdale, Borrowdale and Wasdale. High and rocky towards the centre of the Lake District, the Southern Fells progressively take on a moorland character toward the south west. In the south east are the well known Furness Fells, their heavily quarried flanks rising above Coniston Water.
