I began this walk from the National Trust car park at Glencoyne Bridge, Ullswater. I headed South along the Ullswater Way and then turned West, heading through a lovely track through mixed woodland (red squirrels can often be seen here) past the cottages at Seldom Seen. I continued West along this path through Glencoyne to Bleabank Side, where the path became quite icy and care was needed on the narrow footpath. I reached Nick Head and headed North West up a grassy bank across frozen moorland to White Stones, where I encountered a sprinkling of snow. Along the way I saw plenty of rather large icicles forming in places where the grass overhung bankings. As I continued to climb, the cloud dropped down and so careful navigating was needed to continue along the path to the summit. by the time I reached the summit of Stybarrow Dodd there were no views to be seen and it was snowing lightly. I noticed a tarn on the top which was frozen solid. I waited a few minutes and the cloud began to disperse a little, so I took a few photographs before heading down to the South to Sticks Pass, where I then headed East by Sticks Gill to the disused tips and back to Nick Head. There were some incredible views over to the South East, where cloud was spilling over the fells in the distance. The sun was trying to show as well so it really did look amazing. I stood to admire and take photos and then headed back down Bleabank Side to Seldom Seen, returning to the car via the Ullswater Way.
