Description

This was a second attempt at this pair of hills after previously not being able to cross the river.
Whilst the hills were in full winter condition, we didnt require putting crampons on. Deep soft snow drifts from the summit of Ben Teallach down to the bealach made quick progress, and firm wind scoured snow and ice in patches over the summit of Ben a Choarainn. Spotted some groups climbing the east ridge of Ben A choarainn. Very very windy however on the second summit especially so we didnt hang around. Huge cornices on the eastern rim of Ben A choarainn.
Overcast with occasionally the cloud blowing in and requiring some navigation, especially between the two tops of Ben A choarainn, Which having safely negotiated the hidden coire edge in the snow it cleared giving us great views.

Area : Creag Meagaidh Loch Lochy To Loch Laggan)

This area includes the famous Creag Meagaidh Range and surrounding peaks of at least 600m. It stretches east of the A82 between Spean Bridge and Invergarry, and north of the A86 as far east as Stob Coire Dubh. There are a large number of impressive winter climbs in Coire Ardair and endless navigation opportunities on and around the high central plateau of Creag Meagaidh itself. The mountains to the north and east of this range are under East Highlands, Monaliadth Mountains.
