Third week of lockdown. Both Tufted Duck & Little Grebe still present at Dougalston. Along the banks of the Allander, Wood Anemone has appeared since last week, alongside Celandine. Hawthorn now in leaf. Snipe on Wednesday by the top of Blairskaith Quarry. On Friday we took a look at location of the Roman fort at Cadder; completely destroyed by sand & gravel working in the 1940s (following excavation in 1929). Marsh Marigold now out in the ditch between Balmore & the Cadder footbridge. A brown hare on the haughs. Wild garlic widespread in woods & by the river. By the end of the week, the first Cuckooflower, and the first Sycamores in leaf. Teal on the 'Shoveler Pond' but the Wigeon absent.
