Hill and Moorland Leader (HML) Assessment: Day 3: Started the morning with about an hour going over the "Home Papers" and then headed to Eyam Moor for final Navigation assessment.
Micro Navigation to obscure features on Eyam Moor. Most features were hidden in heather and deep bracken. All features were located. Unfortunately, on my last leg of the assessment, following a bearing, and crashing through deep bracken that was over my head, my right leg dropped into a deep hole and I ended up with a sprained right ankle. Fortunately the assessment was complete at that point.
Returned to Sir William for out brief and successful completion of the HML Assessment.
I am writing this log with that right ankle elevated to reduce the swelling.
Area :
White Peak
Lies to the south of the Dark Peak where the underlying rock is limestone - hence the name. Tends to be a little lower in altitude and also may be known as the Derbyshire or Staffordshire Dales.
