Day 3: St Paul's School, DofE Silver Expedition Assessment. Acted as DofE Assessor and Assistant Leader for 2 of 8 groups of a total of 47 girls. We had all camped at Edale for the night. Heavy rains throughout the night. Days are short now. Got the girls up at 6:00 AM to cook breakfast, packup and head out on the trail in darkness with headlamps. The schedule was tight to get them to the end, and their bus back to London, 11km away at Hayfield, Sett Valley Trail Visitor Center.
The winds continued to be gusting to 40mph with continuous rain as they ascended Jacobs Ladder and over the hills to Hayfield. All eight groups of girls arrived Hayfield in time.
Note: I am not posting any photos for DofE youth activities.
